Congratulations to our six Essendon Thunder Junior Rep teams who participated in Sunday’s Netball Victoria 2023 Central West Association Championships.
The Championships are an opportunity to compete against all other Associations in our region; but most importantly,
an opportunity for our future superstars to be Talent Identified and invited to trial for the next step in the Netball Victoria athlete pathway – Talent Academy (U15’s), or State Team Trials (U17’s).
Every team gave their all on court, and it was most pleasing to see the teamwork and enjoyment all players had out on court.
Our 17’s were most successful for the day. While our Champ team missed finals only on percentage, out 17 Reserve team made the Semi finals, being beaten by Altona in overtime.
Well done to the coaches – Bridget & Caitlyn (17 Champ), Emma & Catherine (17 Reserve), Rehana (15 Champ), Laura (15 Reserve), Sam and Phoebe (13 Champ) and Fiona (13 Reserve) on their dedication to the teams and support of all players week on and week out.
To all parents, siblings, injured players, friends and families that attended – thank you so much for your support all day. From filling drink bottles and strapping ankles, to supporting tired players get through the day, we appreciate every one of you!
