EDNA Community Announcement — Resignation of President, Naomi Wood

ree

On behalf of the Essendon District Netball Association (EDNA) Executive and Committee, we wish to advise that Naomi Wood has formally stepped down from her role as President of EDNA, effective 15 July 2025.

Naomi has led with heart — often behind the scenes, and always with the intent to serve the best interests of our players, clubs, umpires, and community. She stepped into the President role at a time of significant change and helped bring greater focus, clarity, and accountability to EDNA’s governance.

Under her leadership, EDNA has:

* Strengthened its financial position

* Enhanced day-to-day operations and organisational processes

* Launched the EDNA Mixed Competition and older age group teams — championing inclusive pathways for all players

* Delivered two successful EDNA tournaments

* Elevated EDNA’s visibility and presence through consistent social media, branding, and community communications

* Continued advocacy and consultation with stakeholders on the new pavilion, scoreboard installation and the future wind breakers project at Riverside

Naomi also played a key role in deepening connection across the Association — creating a more responsive and inclusive experience for clubs, players, and families.

The EDNA Executive is currently managing the formal transition process, and a committee meeting will be convened shortly to determine next steps in line with the Constitution.

We thank Naomi for her service, leadership, and the energy she brought to this role.
